Jonah & Amy serve with EFCA ReachGlobal, living and ministering in the city of Lyon, France, where they are involved primarily in church planting and evangelism. Their ministry here also includes discipleship and teaching. It is Jonah & Amy’s desire to see healthy communities of worshipers develop among the people of Lyon. This desire comes with many challenges as they encounter a population of people who come from a diverse religious background. A majority of people here are atheist or nonreligious, and the remainder of the population follows various religions and philosophies that are very much opposed the Christian message of salvation by faith in Christ.
Lyon is a beautiful city whose population is fast approaching 2,000,000, but only a small minority follow Christ. The huge Catholic basilica that sits on the hill overlooking our city is a reminder of the Christian heritage that dates back even to the first century A.D. when Christianity first arrived here.
